For FW27/28, denim is moving into a more engineered phase, where craft, treatment and material performance become central to its evolution.

Its authenticity remains rooted in indigo culture, workwear memory and worn surfaces, but the shift is now happening inside the process. Finishing, dyeing and fabric construction are becoming new tools of value, giving denim a more precise and contemporary identity.

Innovation is reshaping both surface and impact. Hydrogel treatments by Soko Italy point to a new generation of solutions designed to reduce production time and water consumption, while sulphur dyeing and layered overdye processes create deeper, mineral and lived-in tones with a more responsible sensibility.

At the same time, denim becomes softer, richer and more tactile. Evolved jacquards, compact textures and blended compositions with wool, silk or cashmere move the fabric away from stiffness, opening space for warmer touch, relaxed volumes and more fluid silhouettes.

The focus is no longer only on denim as an icon, but on denim as a crafted material: technical, emotional and increasingly defined by know-how, finish and surface depth.
