love & belonging

Some graphic codes survive because they are simple enough to be constantly reinvented.

The original I ♥ NY sketch reduced attachment to its most immediate form: a letter, a symbol, a place. That radical simplicity transformed an everyday message into a visual language capable of travelling across generations, cultures and contexts.

Today, that same instinct is becoming relevant again.

As fashion moves away from purely decorative graphics, symbols are regaining emotional weight. Familiar signs, direct typography and deliberately uncomplicated messages offer an alternative to visual saturation: something recognizable, human and immediate.

For the seasons ahead, this opens a broader territory around emotional graphics.

Souvenir language becomes less literal and more expressive. Hearts, emblems, names and universally understood symbols can be reworked through scale, distortion, craft, texture and unexpected substitutions, creating graphics that feel both familiar and newly personal.

The interest is not in reproducing an iconic formula, but in rediscovering its mechanism: turning emotion into image with the fewest possible elements.

This creates space for a new generation of graphic statements — warmer, more instinctive and more collective — where fashion becomes a surface for affection, connection and shared recognition.

Love & Belonging is not a return to souvenir culture. It is the beginning of a more emotional visual language.
